Fossils & Dinosaurs Wiki

Hi 4 Lv,



I have set up a wiki in term 2 English @ Gmlites for all of you to complete your work.

1. I put you into groups of 4.


2. Each pair in a group works on a theory why dinosaurs became extinct.


3. After that , each pair writes a theory in the main explanation of your explanation text. If both pairs are writing the same theory, just need to merge them into 1 explanation.


4. Use the flowchart to organise your explanation. I have uploaded 2 flowcharts that some of you sent to me in class, to the PBwiki . Please go and retrieve it. I also uploaded the flowchart template too incase you need it.


5. I have also put up virtual stamps. If you do well, stamps will be awarded. The stamps will be changed into angels for you claim little tokens.


6. To be completed by 25th March 2oo8.

You have to include the following features of an explanation text in your Wiki:
- Title
-Begins with a general statement
-Main part of the explanation consisting a series of steps explaining why dinosaurs became extinct ( 2 explanation from 2 pairs)

- pictures
-Ending statement or a comment

P4 Social Studies Project

Objective: To know about the Malay Culture

After your visit to Kampong Glam, you are given the task to tell the rest of the pupils in schools about the Malay Culture. Design an attractive poster based on any ONE of the followng aspects of Malay Culture:

• Costumes
• Customs and Etiquettes
• Festivals (e.g. Hari Raya Haji, Hari Raya Puasa)
• Food (e.g. Nasi Lemak, Nasi Padang)
• Games (e.g. Congkak, Chapteh)
• Musical instruments (e.g. Kompang, Seruling)

Include pictures (taken from the tour or the Internet) and type-written write-ups (hand-written for those without computer or printer) for your posters.

Relevant 2-D objects (e.g. green packets, origami ketupat) can be included to make your poster look really cool. Be creative andenjoy the process of learning.

SINGAPORE is clean but not because of the habits of its people.

In the wee hours of two mornings, The Sunday Times trawled five precincts and saw them at their ugliest before the cleaners got started.

A used sanitary pad had been pitched out of the window of an HDB flat in Circuit Road. So, too, had a soiled baby diaper at a neighbouring block.

The stench from puddles of vomit and urine clouded lift lobbies and staircases, while cigarette butts, used tissue paper, cotton buds - and even tufts of hair - were strewn across the void decks.

The area directly beneath kitchen windows was the dirtiest. Plastic bags, apple cores, orange peel, broken eggshells: All these and more had been chucked out of the windows at night.
The cleaning brigade clears up the mess in time for the harsh light of day.

Cleaner Heriati Mohd Isa, who sweeps two blocks in Hougang Avenue 8, is especially annoyed but thinks nothing can be done.

'I don't understand. They have dustbins at home. Why must they throw things out of their window?' said the exasperated 55-year-old as she swept the void deck.

Despite the ongoing keep-clean efforts of town councils, cleaners told The Sunday Times that housing estates are anything but.

They are resigned to it.

Many local homes in the vicinity have been intruded by termites and homeowners need to know more about them in order to take the necessary precautions.

• You are to play the role of reporters who have been tasked to write a short information report on termites to inform the community of the problem.
